Just a half hour away, you can book a kayaking trip at the Bayou Bodcau Wildlife Management Area in Bellevue. The slow-moving water allows you to calmly take in your picturesque surroundings and explore Louisiana’s bayous firsthand. 

And if you don’t want to head out on the water, hop on over to Hosston to visit Big Mama’s Antiques and Restorations. It’s an eclectic, African American-owned shop that has a wide range of treasures, from 200-year-old newspapers to pre-Civil War artifacts, and everything in-between.
