Our home is a Scandinavian scribed log house located half an hour north of Huntsville, Ontario, Canada. This is just north of Muskoka. It is surrounded by spruce, birch and maple trees, facing Buck Lake on a one acre lake view property (not lakefront).
It is a very quiet area in the off season (75% of the properties on the lake are cottages ). The house has a full porch on ts front facing the lake. The entrance to the house has a cathedral ceiling opening to the kitchen with dining area, Stairs lead upstairs to a walkway with log rails, which runs above the kitchen to three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a small balcony overlooking the side yard. A large window is across from the walkway looking out towards the lake.
There is a woodstove in the entry with a seating area across from the stove. Off to the right is the living room , a bathroom and office area. The round logs inside are honey coloured and a large size. The house has a basement which is partially finished with a large room with a pool table and there is a fourth bedroom in the basement. The house is approximately 2500 square feet and is located at 475 B Selena Drive, Sprucedale, Ontario, Canada We have a three car garage on the property and behind the garage is a half acre wooded area.
The house was built in 2001 and appears rustic and modern at the same time. The stairs leading from the porch are made of large rocks with a stone walkway to the gravel driveway, The kitchen was redone a year ago and has all stainless steel appliances, cherry cupboards and a stone backsplash and dark granite countertops and an island. The bathroom is all exposed logs with a modern glass shower and a stand alone bathtub. The floors on the main floor are maple hardwood and upstairs is pine.
The ceiling upstairs and in the entryway and kitchen, dining area is pine and the ceiling in the livingroom/office area is all logs. Beneath the wood stove in the entryway is stone made in the shape of a leaf. The basement is drywalled with light floors. The ceiling in the basement has not been finished. To me the house has a timeless , comfortable feeling and that is what appealed to me when I first saw it. Please note, my username says Casino, however if you contact me, my name is Bonnie.

I have described a few unique characteristics in the above profile. In addition, the house is log and some of the logs on the outside of the house have carvings, one in particular , the end of the log is carved like a dragonfly. To me, the walkway across the entryway/kitchen and the stones underneath the wood stove, made in the shape of a leaf is unique. The rock steps from the porch were put in place by the previous owner and add appeal to the house.
We have a driveway with two entrances off of Selena Drive. The driveway would most likely park 10 vehicles.
