Historic mansion built by architect Hans Gehrke for renowned Detroit jeweler Robert C. Traub in 1914. The "Traub House" was featured on the cover of the "House Beautiful Magazine" same year, and many pages of that issue showcased the interiors of the house. It is about 5,000 sq ft, practically 3-story if taking into consideration "maids' quarters" up on the third floor. There are 2 bedrooms, lounge and a full bathroom on the 3rd floor.

Wide main staircase leads to the landing between the first and the second floors and further up to the bedrooms. On the left, master bedroom and a study room with private full bathroom en-suite; on the right - two smaller bedrooms and another full bathroom. Original pewabic tiles on the kitchen floor and around the fireplace in the living room. First floor includes living room, dining room, kitchen and the breakfast room that has double doors opening out into the back yard and garden.

The house is mentioned in one of the Wikipedia articles (about Arden Park district in Detroit). Exterior is white stucco and brick. Interior is sort of "rustic", with plenty of wooden panels all around the first floor. There are 3 fireplaces - in the dining room, living room and in the finished basement that used to be a speak-easy in the era of "prohibition". This is a unique property, sitting on a large corner lot which would allow for large-scale events and indoor-outdoor receptions. Amazing house for period films. Corner of Arden Park Boulevard and John R. Street in Detroit.
